Canada Day 2015

pipedpiperThe July 1, 2015 celebration and family picnic in the park was a huge success. The day was sunny and the air had cleared of smoke from the northern fires making the Playground/Generations Park the perfect place to be. The volunteer organizing committee had what they wanted -a great place for people to meet, have fun and to socialize with their neighbours from the village and surrounding area. The turnout was excellent -over 200 adults and 30 children. Afternoon activities began with a variety of crafts utilizing re-cycled materials showing re-purposing can be creative. The newspaper hats were particularly popular. Children enjoyed face painting and balloon creations.

The highlight of the day was the children’s parade lead by “Pied Piper” Mayor MacKay.
