Silent Auction Shields Village Signs
Own a Piece of History!

Purchase an old Shields street sign by placing a bid at the Silent Auction.  All proceeds from the auction will go to Sport Court.

How will the auction work?
At Shields Annual Meeting in May bids will be accepted on Bid Sheets for each of the 23 street signs.  Highest bidder gets the sign.

When and Where can I see the street Signs?
Prior to the auction:

You can see the actual signs at the Community Centre February 21 and March 20 at the Pot Luck events.  Bid sheets for each of the signs will be available for you to record your bid.  Not able to get to a potluck  - have someone record your bid on the bid sheet or attend the Annual Meeting on Saturday May 16.

Don't miss this chance to own a piece of Shields' history!

The Assessment Roll will be open from January 31st until Mar 2nd, 2020.  Please see attached notice.

Recieve Shields' Operational Notices by 'TEXT'.

textMessages

See PDF for the steps.

If you want to receive notices and updates on Shields operational services via text, please sign up by following the instructions below. This service works similar to text messaging used by other organizations such as the RCMP Saskatchewan Crime Watch and many retail businesses. Once you sign up for the service, you can always opt out at any time. Shields will continue to use existing forms of communication including email, this will simply be another communiction tool for quick operational updates on immediate operational issues or activities in the Village.

IMPORTANT REMINDER:

PLEASE ASSURE your Docks and Lifts are Identified with your FULL NAME on each piece as the Village Personal will be doing a walk to identify which docks and Lifts are not marked! This must be done by JUNE 15/19

Also please note all docks and lifts must be in the water and off Municipal Reserve by JUNE 15 / 19 ( unless you have contacted the Village to explain why this cannot happen )

Thank you for all for your cooperation as this will help the Village find and identify all Abandoned docks and Lifts so they can be removed from the Municipal Reserve/ shoreline.

On any block and in any neighbourhood, it only takes one house that is harbouring illegal activities to undermine the safety of all residents of that community and affect the property values throughout that neighbourhood.

The Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods Act is intended to empower residents to take back their neighbourhoods by reporting problem residences or businesses that are habitually used for illegal activities. These activities could include drugs, prostitution, gang or criminal activities, child sexual abuse or the unlawful sale or consumption of alcohol.  (See Link)
